How Spy Equipment Buying Guide was born...
It all started with myself having a serious situation requiring the use of quality spy equipment to perform surveillance on a specific target.(that is vague but i won't provide any more details on this sensitive case).

From past experiences a decade earlier, i was already pretty well seasoned in the art of surveillance, but i wanted to catch up on the new generations of Spy devices that appeared on the market since then.

While searching on the net, i realized there wasn't any site really dedicated to providing non biased quality information on what to look for when buying those surveillance gear and making non biased recommendations..

What was all over the Web were spy shops after spy shops making sales pitch about how ALL their product were the best and the best priced on the market.

Just an example would be the cheap voice changers most spy shops are praising which just doesn't deliver on it's promise.(Read my voice changer article and you'll understand.)
And btw, do you really believe a single store can claim to have the best of everything.... me neither.

I couldn't find the right information to make the right decision on what equipment was appropriate for my situation, without over paying for some ultra sophisticated 900$ + devices i probably didn't need.Nor did i want to buy some crap imitations that didn't get the job done either.

And so i went to several well known surveillance equipment stores with a list full of questions.I got my questions answered and the spy device i needed.

The following month, my "situation" required the use of another type of spy equipment. To get the information and equipment i needed, i came back to the surveillance store that had been the most helpful on my previous "spy gear search" . I ,again, ended up a happy and satisfied customer and the owner, who is also a private investigator , became a close friend of mine.

Realizing all the great information i was gathering on buying spy equipment and how much it was lacking on the Web, i started building a web site dedicated to helping others with their spy equipment questions and needs.

I first started adding pages from the knowledge i already gathered from my previous visits to my friend's store.Then one day i told him i would write a "book" on the subject and asked him if he would share his surveillance equipment knowledge with me if i'd paid him.

He agreed, and so this site only grew from there.

Spy equipment Buying Guide is the result of this journey. From surveillance information i needed for myself to dedicating myself to helping others in the same way. The site is constantly updated and we now do our in depth research from many sources including private investigator magazines, books and other people.
