Here are some features to look for in the model that you choose:

• Motion activated. You’ll want to choose a model that will pick up any movement within the area and instantly turn on. Now, some cameras will have a delay. And, a delay of even a few seconds worth can cause you to loose the image you need. So, look for those with little or no delay at all.
• Easy install is also important. In some cases, like that of the Flood Cam, you will simply need to replace a light fixture with the camera unit.
• Insure the unit you purchase will provide a clear picture. Clarity really makes all the difference especially at night.
• Weather resistance is also important.
• Consider the field of view of the cam. 60 degrees are more is usually necessary.
