Radar detector explanation
This concept works fairly well in that police officer running the radar maysimply use it on most vehicles as they come into range where they can bevisually identified (about 1/4 mile). If you are traveling at 70 mph and your radar detector gives you a warning 1/2 mile ahead, you will have 13 seconds to adjust your speed before coming into the 1/4-mile range your vehicle can be visually identified. It's important to be aware that the 1/4-mile visual identification, while a reasonable estimate, is simply an example.Depending on terrain and amount of traffic, visual identification may be made at distances greater than 1/4 mile.
