Install High Security door Locks
Security door locks are an essential component of any secure home. We all have some type of lock on the doors to our homes and businesses. Unfortunately most locks are not security door locks, and so they are not designed to prevent surreptitious entry, even from amateur with lock picks type of spy equipment. The majority of locks we install in our homes and businesses are intended to restrict forced entry- that is, to hold a door in a closed position, preventing it from being opened and resisting some degree of force against the door and lock. While most quality ones do a fair job of restricting forced entry, they do little to prevent surreptitious entry. It takes only limited skills and practice to be able to pick open locks most commonly used to protect your home.It takes even less practice and only slightly more time for a determined thief or snoop to impression a key to these locks and thus have repeated access to the area protected by the lock. Covert entry teams usually have a skilled locksmith ready to quickly bypass any lock the team may run into as it goes about its secret affairs. From a countermeasures standpoint, we need to defeat this locksmith. Fortunately, this is just a matter of installing "pick-proof", high security door locks to protect our homes.Technically, there is perhaps no truly pickproof security locks, since any lock can be bypassed under laboratory conditions given sufficient time. However, there are locks that are virtually pickproof under field conditions. I personally use Medeco High Security locks throughout my home, thereby virtually eliminating the possibility of anyone's sneaking into my home by surreptitiously bypassing the locks. These locks are as pickproof as one can get. When considering privacy and countermeasures, it pays to choose security door locks that cannot be bypassed surreptitiously. Just as important as defeating rogue government agents or Joe Sleaze, Private Eye,is ensuring that no third party maintains a key to your home.
