Spy finder is a device which can detect the presence of cameras, be it hidden or not,in a given location.

Is there a need for it?

There is a wide propagation of small cameras which are often misused for personal and professional reasons.

90% of these "prying eyes" operate in the 900 or 2400 MHz bands making it possible to detect it using a camera detector.

How it works

The way it works is it detects the light reflected by a camera's optical lens.

To detect a camera you have to sweep the device slowly while watching for a blinking lights reflected back on objects - the device needs to be aimed so that it's light is directly pointing at a camera's lens and you look for a reflection.

Not an easy thing to do.

It works but...

The operator has to pay very close attention to catch the often subtle glint of a reflection - which is not easy when you don't know if and where a camera is hidden.

Still, it is one of the few working camera detector that is affordable -providing you take the time to use it carefully.
